Yeah if there are too many exceptions, then it won't make sense to make it a strict requirement here.

Since there is not really a superordinate organization in which all teams are represented, it depends very much on the respective federation or coach when the BB degrees are awarded.

We will keep it as it is for now, without any time requirements, then. In case the community should ever agree on anything, we can quickly implement it here and everything will dynamically update :)

How did the first generations do wrt stripes?
There should be a standard ASAP or it will, in my humble opinion, eventually be a problem point.

Extract of the requirements of the Luta Livre World Federation:

required will be forty (40) years being treated as a GRAND MASTER.
From the 9th to the 10th Dan will be required a minimum period of 10 years, being the minimum age of the applicant
will be 60 (sixty) years old.
